Rose Bowl
Carter-Ruck is representing a consortium of leading hotel groups in judicial review proceedings against Eastleigh Borough Council. The consortium, comprising Macdonald Hotels, Meridian Leisure Hotels and Shire Hotels, is challenging a recent decision of Eastleigh Borough Council to finance the construction of a £32m hotel as part of a redevelopment of the Rose Bowl cricket ground, the home of Hampshire CC and a Test venue for the 2011 tour by Sri Lanka.
Sports Network - Joe Calzaghe
The firm represented Sports Network in its high profile contractual dispute against Joe Calzaghe, the world champion professional boxer, who retired undefeated earlier this year.

Settlement for Pensions Claimants
The 45 Claimants in the Stax Scheme litigation settled their claims against Barclays Bank and the Bank of Nova Scotia. The 12-week trial of the claim settled on confidential terms two weeks into the trial.
The Claimants were represented on Conditional Fee Agreements, coupled with After the Event (ATE) insurance totalling £6.5 million, believed to be a record for a commercial case.
